Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. A high quality music education should engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement – National Curriculum 2013
BAM! is dedicated to providing interesting and exciting instrumental tuition and band coaching. Our philosophy is simple; whether it’s learning your first chord, writing your first song or performing your 100th gig, it’s always important to BE AWESOME!
‘Be Awesome Music continues to provide our pupils with an amazing experience. Andy’s energy and commitment make the pupils’ sessions that much more special. A huge thank you Andy!’
James Thomas – Enrichment Coordinator, Rainsbrook STC
Andy and BAM music have been absolutely amazing over the last few years at Rainsbrook STC. The work Andy has done with our young people has been inspirational. He has worked with young people who had none, or little musical experience and supported them to play instruments and create and record their own music. On top of this he has supported young people to express their emotions as well as build their confidence and resilience. Andy has been flexible, patient and been able to have great results in an environment that can be quite difficult. Music is now extremely popular across the site. It is hopeful that these young people continue to play music when leave Rainsbrook and that would a huge credit to the work Andy has done.

Emma Griffiths – MMus P & P, BA(Hons)
"I've worked with Andy for 5 years in secondary schools in Rugby. His students rave about how awesome their lessons are with him, and the quality of musicianship I've seen from his pupils is of a very high standard. More importantly, Andy teaches with a real sense of fun and gets his pupils really fired up and excited about music, which is so important (especially for beginners). He's a great guy, very approachable, and I highly rate him as a teacher."
Mandy Crump – Parent
"...you have been a brilliant teacher, mentor and role model for Georgie individually as well as TanTrum. I have seen you have such a great rapport with young musicians and seem to have endless patience with everyone. I remember a quote from a neighbour who works in a school where you teach music "The kids love him and its like having a piped piper at school!"
Ellis Powell-Bevan – Student
Andy Walker has been my guitar teacher since I was nine. This is gonna sound corny but I initially went for lessons as my dream even at that age was to be in a band . Andy came into my school and taught me right from the beginning playing a Star Wars riff was my first homework I am now 15 I have a band called Tan.Trum which I would not have if it wasn't for Andy. From Tan.trums initial practise at gig zone to date we have played the NEC twice and the Warwick arts centre amongst many other gigs and we have even recorded and released our first ep we would not have done any of this without him
Sheila Allen – Music Teacher
Consummate professionalism blended with unfeasible cool. A winning combination that’s inspiring a generation. What a pleasure it has been to see Andy at work with young people with a huge range of abilities. Over the past ten years, I have seen how he makes each individual feel valued and accomplished
He instills in them the confidence and skills to be something they didn't think they could be.
Becky Bernamont – Director of WYJO
"As a fellow teacher I have seen first hand the positive impact Andy has both on individual pupils and on upcoming bands. Having worked with many of his students, it is clear that he inspires them to want to develop in all aspects of musicality, and in particular it is noticeable how much each of them is able and willing to express themselves through their music. I would recommend him to learner of any age and standard as a teacher who will bring out the best in any pupil."
